Just 30 miles east of San Francisco, the City of Walnut Creek is the economic and entertainment hub of Central Contra Costa County, conveniently located at the intersection of Highway 680 and Highway 24.  And, with a downtown BART station and excrellent public transportation, it allows residents to have an easy commute to anywhere in the Bay Area.  Walnut Creek has a population of 65,000, and covers approximately 19.50 square miles. 

With bustling San Francisco to the west and the natural beauty of Mount Diablo State Park to the east, Walnut Creek offers urban flair, suburban grace, peaceful wilderness, world class restaurants and with top ranked public schools, and excellent private shools. Once an agricultural haven for the cultivation of nuts, fruits, and vineyards,  the area’s mild climate allows for year round indoor and outdoor activities, that's enjoying the Ironhorse Trail and the Canal Trail, attending the theater or hiking Mount Diablo State Park.  It is also the headquarters for one of the top medical centers in Northern California – John Muir Medical Center.
