Alamo
This is one of the sought after East Bay communities to live in. It was listed recently as one of the Top 100 cities in the U.S. for quality of life within a semi-rural, low-density residential area. Most homes are on ½ acre lots or more. It has about 16,000 residents and is governed by the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors. The public and private schools are some of the highest ranked in the state. The center of town is Alamo Square that has almost everything one needs - from Safeway to CVS. And, if you want coffee, breakfast and lunch, the iconic Alamo Cafe is the place to start. Mt. Diablo State Park access is right in the middle of this community at the end of Green Valley Road. The Ironhorse Trail runs right through the community connecting the entire Valley for walkers, runners and bicycles, and it has several access points to Las Trampas Regional Preserve. It is a quiet community that plans to stay small.
