Ann Marie brings an international perspective to her work. Having lived in Geneva, Switzerland, and Toronto, Canada, before making the East Bay her home, she understands firsthand the challenges of relocation. She began her real estate career in 1997 and has built a reputation for serving clients throughout the East Bay and helping families move across the country and around the world.

In 2005, Ann Marie and her husband and business partner, Jim Walberg, founded The Bay Area Team at Compass. Today, they specialize in luxury homes, equestrian and country properties, and unique estates. Ann Marie also works with trusted relocation and referral partners around the world, helping clients navigate transitions wherever life takes them.

A Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and Corporate Relocation Specialist, Ann Marie brings the same attention to detail and personal care to every client relationship. Her earlier career with the United Nations and Geneva International Airport shaped the cultural awareness and communication skills that continue to serve her clients today. She is fluent in French and holds a degree in Business and French from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

A Danville resident since 1992, Ann Marie has served on her neighborhood HOA board for more than 20 years. Outside of real estate, she enjoys traveling, hiking, pickleball, entertaining friends and clients, and spending time with Jim, their three adult children, and their spouses.
