Blackhawk
This highly exclusive planned gated community began its development in 1975. It has two champion golf courses, tennis club, sports center, and swim club. You do not have to be a member of the country club programs in order to live in Blackhawk. And, there are only 2,400 homes built on its 2,000 lush acres. It is an unincorporated part of the Town of Danville and is surrounded by all the amenities a family could possibly ever want. The surrounding schools are all at the highest levels within California. It was originally established in 1917 as a horse ranch named after a famous Irish racehorse – Blackhawk. Today it is surrounded by the Blackhawk Plaza Shopping Center, the world famous Blackhawk Car Museum and the University of California – Berkeley Natural History Museum.
